Apologies for not posting recently but rest assured we are knee deep in research on a variety of topics including the latest census data that shows migrations within the United States. Rather than write up the migrations, it would be a good use of your time to review Reventure Consulting’s YouTube channel and watch this video:

As for labor shortages, it’s getting so bad in Wyoming that convicts are now being considered for open jobs and we just don’t see how that will end well.

Labor market conditions are so tight that employers are more likely to consider hiring those with a previous conviction – especially in the case of nonviolent offenses. There is some discretion involved as it pertains to the nature of a person’s offense and the type of job being considered, but, overall, a recorded conviction is less likely to result in immediate disqualification for job candidates.

Lastly, the Russia-Ukraine conflict is now impacting fertilizer availability and has the potential to disrupt world food supplies significantly. From Reuters:

Western sanctions on Russia, a major exporter of potash, ammonia, urea and other soil nutrients, have disrupted shipments of those key inputs around the globe. Fertilizer is key to keeping corn, soy, rice and wheat yields high. Growers are scrambling to adjust.

Of course, fertilizer won’t be the only problem. A shortage of truckers, farm labor, and supply chain disruptions will exacerbate and magnify any problem that creeps up over the next few months. Spring is just around the corner and that’s planting season so we’ll see by this Fall how bad the outcome will be but a prudent investor will position themselves accordingly.

Stay tuned and stay solvent…
