Idaho has unique labor shortages and its not driven by demographic changes but by political policy. From the Idaho Capital Sun:
Idaho’s Bonner General Health, the only hospital in Sandpoint, announced Friday afternoon that it will no longer provide obstetrical services to the city of more than 9,000 people, meaning patients will have to drive 46 miles for labor and delivery care moving forward.
“The Idaho Legislature continues to introduce and pass bills that criminalize physicians for medical care nationally recognized as the standard of care,” the hospital’s news release said. “Consequences for Idaho physicians providing the standard of care may include civil litigation and criminal prosecution, leading to jail time or fines.”

Idaho has a population of under 2 million and with the current public policy and deterioration of medical care, we don’t expect it to grow healthier anytime soon.
It won’t be long for medical treatment in Idaho to consist of blood letting, a session of leeching or exorcism to rid a person of their illnesses but you reap what you sow so be it.
We won’t be looking at investing in Idaho anytime soon or perhaps ever but in the future it may become a medieval tourist destination to get the whole look and feel as close to reality of living in the 13th century. Let’s hope Bubonic plague doesn’t have a resurgence here.
Stay tuned, stay profitable (& healthy) and solvent…
